What we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiries: your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, company, website, budget, the service you need and anything you write in our forms, emails or chats.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe in our footer.
- Client projects: contact and billing details, and the content, logins and files you share so we can build or maintain your website.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country or city), device, browser and how you arrived, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity also records anonymised mouse movements and clicks to show us where pages are confusing. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland these run only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Server logs: IP address, browser and the pages requested, kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
Information from other sources
For business outreach we may collect a business name, the name of a contact person, a business email address and website from public sources such as the business's own website, Google Maps or professional directories. See Business outreach.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data such as health, religious or financial account information, and we ask you not to send it to us.
How and why we use it
We use personal data only for these purposes, each with a legal basis under the EU and UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Answering your enquiry and preparing a quote | Steps you asked for before entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Delivering, supporting and invoicing client projects | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligations such as tax records (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Sending our newsletter | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw with the unsubscribe link or by emailing us |
| Website analytics and improving our pages | Your consent in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland (Art. 6(1)(a)); our legitimate interest elsewhere (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Keeping the website secure and preventing abuse | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Contacting businesses about our services | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), always with an easy opt-out |
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not run advertising cookies on this website.
International transfers
Our team works from Pakistan and Azerbaijan, and some providers above process data in the United States and elsewhere. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the EU or UK.
When we transfer personal data from the EU or UK, we rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions where they apply, and otherwise on the transfer being necessary to answer your request or perform our contract with you (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). We apply the same protection to your data wherever it is handled.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client project and billing records: for the length of the project and up to 6 years afterwards for tax and legal purposes.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics, and up to 13 months in Microsoft Clarity.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Outreach records: up to 12 months without a reply. If you opt out, we keep only your email address on a suppression list so we never contact you again.
Your rights
EU, EEA, UK and Swiss residents
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, or in the UK to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), although we would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
United States residents
Depending on your state, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
How to make a request
Email team@uhldevelopers.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may ask you to confirm your identity. We respond within one month, or within the time your local law requires. Requests are free.
Business outreach
We sometimes email businesses whose websites we believe we can genuinely improve. We use only business contact details published by the business itself or in public directories, and we write about a specific issue with the business's website.
Every outreach email identifies us, includes our contact details and a simple way to opt out. Reply "unsubscribe" or email us and we will stop immediately and add your address to our suppression list. You can also ask us where we found your details.
How we protect your data
Our website runs on HTTPS, access to client data and logins is limited to the people working on your project, and we use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication where available. When a project ends, we ask you to change any passwords you shared with us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you without undue delay if a breach is likely to affect you.
Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on this page.
